The site is located at the very heart of El Pilar neighborhood, backwards to the shopping centre La Vaguada. The park’s main characteristic is the presence of several cultural and sports’ installations, as well as the great diversity of areas for the neighbors and a pine forest.
The volume of this new building is lined up with the other street constructions. By placing all the program around the patio, we are domesticating the exterior space in order to establish a direct and permanent relation with it.
The new museum M20 will be home to tens of art pieces that are now in several galleries and archives of Berlin, and it is an opportunity to develop the urban design of the very last empty plot in the Kulturforum, lying between its solitary neighbors.

As an answer to the powerful façades of the housing blocks on the north, this proposal unifies in one piece the three required uses: the primary school, the swimming pool and the double sports center.
In an area with such a variety of housing typologies, the main goal is to start a transformation process to give a global identity to the neighborhood. This process starts with a master plan that unifies these different systems and establishes a common space as a starting point for the change.
The plots' sub-division in La Barceloneta produces a singular type of apartment known as “a quarter of a house”, with an area is 35 sqm. These buildings are until 36 meters high and have no option to include an elevator.
The subject of this competition was to design and rethink how a collective restroom should be. Being included as one of the satellite exhibitions of a ceramic fair, this proposal does not talk about materials, but about the way we use them.
